CELEBRATING THREE YEARS

·
[Bali, Pantai Pasut, 15/05/23] – As part of our commitment to making a positive impact in the fashion industry, we are thrilled to announce the third-year collaboration between ENVELOPE1976 and SLEEPERS. This partnership represents a shared dedication to change, and a deep appreciation for the sea. Together, we have developed two pairs of timeless flip flop models, crafted from renewable natural rubber and free from harmful chemicals, available in classic black and crisp whiteShop ENVELOPE1976xSLEEPERS here.

For us, it was completely natural to repeat the collaboration with Envelope1976. We believe in collaborations for the future where brands can become specialists in their fields and stand stronger together, explains Nina Granerød, Founder of SLEEPERS.

ENVELOPE1976xSLEEPERS prioritize environmental responsibility in every aspect. By conducting our photo shoot in Bali, we sought to minimize travel impact and take advantage of the rich natural landscapes that the island offers. Working collaboratively across borders and continents, we strive to demonstrate that sustainable fashion knows no boundaries. The result is a remarkable campaign that includes  ENVELOPE1976xSLEEPERS and the CRUISE23 collection. It captures the essence of our shared vision, showcasing our eco-friendly flip flops in all their glory.

Founder of ENVELOPE1976, Celine Aagaard, expressed her enthusiasm for cross-border collaboration, stating, ”We try to minimize our environmental footprint as best as possible. The photo shoot took place in Bali, where Sleeper’s founder, co-owner, and designer Nina Granerød currently resides, along with photographer Polina and model Ira. The team has created a lovely campaign that highlights our sustainable flip flops. It’s truly exciting to work together across different countries and see how well we can collaborate regardless of distance. We are proud to collaborate with Norwegian Sleeepers for 3 years in a row.”

Typically, these casual footwear items are made from synthetic rubber derived from by-products of the oil industry, contributing to the alarming problem of plastic pollution in our oceans. With ENVELOPE1976xSLEEPERS, the Norwegian entrepreneurs want to offer a better alternative to these - flip flops that are crafted from Premium Grade natural rubber sourced under fair trade conditions, with utmost care for both nature and people. We ensure that only a reasonable amount of latex, approximately 20-30 grams, is collected from each tree every three days, protecting the natural cycle.

Founder of SLEEPERS, Nina Granrød, expresses her dedication to transparency and sustainability, stating, ”We want to have a transparent value chain and be close to our partners. Sleepers was just visiting plantations and the factory in Sri Lanka. This time, the whole family planted their own rubber trees on the plantation. Natural rubber is tapped from the rubber tree. Only a reasonable amount of rubber is tapped per day to preserve the tree’s natural cycle.”
